A Reeling Life

A Reeling Life – Poem

A Reeling life

A sentimental gawp for very last time,

a quiet run to feel the adrenaline rush,

a  planner that was never been hit with dates,

a classic old movie with a bowl of popcorn,

a red crimson dress that had never seen a party,

a nude lip balm that never left my bag,

a phone with an apple touch,

A wardrobe that’s left untouched after a she walked away,

a carved heart with their names becoming a milestone,

a long quiet hushed walk before a breaking dawn,

a full moon regalia after a series of ragged crescents,

a sea facing sunset in a sad lonely apartment,

a breakfast that’s cooked by somebody special,

a miniature car holding most of your childhood,

a barbie whose dress was never changed,

A mother’s wedding attire for your own wedding,

a day to school when you start holding your bf’s hand,

some strawberries to pass a winter night,

a repeated song which accidentally lasted for a month not week,

a masterpiece with a blissful deformity,

reminiscing school days in some old pictures,

a bad day obscuring all the possibilities to move on,

A fight which played repeatedly in your head,

a magazine that had your first interview,

some hobbies which kept you on the toes round the clock,

playing incognito to know who your real friends were,

your mother’s watch which you loved to flaunt,

a key chain which you never wished to get rid off,

Those wandering eyes who only needed a home to halt,

an old chateau filled with some childhood memories,

a wallet with his lover’s photo,

a window that’s never opened for years,

an old family portrait which haunted you in your nightmares,

a typewriter that wrote beautiful beginnings  & endings,

A perfect scent  which reminded you of your lover,

a long drive that never ended cause he wasn’t her destination,

a novel half read stared at you from a distance,

a perfect prom dress which bagged your first dance, a morning walk helped venting all your emotions,

a quiet stare gave many reasons to breakup,

A shovel that never saw soil of a cemetery, had to bury her broken heart,

A knife that chopped only vegetables had become her knight in shinning armour,

A day she cooked a perfect meal to win his heart, they’d say men’s love reside in their bellies and not hearts.

A laughter that echoed in your head every time you want to shut those eyes,

An old disc curated by a lover who knew your favourite songs,

A bachelorette party and next day Hangover,

a bouquet of red roses with an anonymous love letter,

a soulful lover who you one day get married to,

a breakup that you knew wouldn’t last for a week,

a series of young adult you never wished to leave behind,

a role you want to play in your reel & real life.
